Arsenal are still in the hunt for Roma and Holland forward, Justin Kluivert, according to reports emerging from Italy today.

Corriere dello Sport (via Goal), claim that the Gunners are keeping tabs on Kluivert after being linked with the Dutchman earlier in the year.

Back in June, the Sun claimed that a potential deal could be on the cards that would see the 21-year-old land in London, with Henrik Mkhitaryan heading in the opposite direction.

However, since then, Roma have come to a separate agreement over the Armenian international, with no sign of Kluivert heading the other way.

But it seems Mikel Arteta has not given up on the promising attacker just yet. Kluivert, who is represented by Mino Raiola, is thought to be still on the Arsenal bosses radar.

Arteta is keeping a close eye on the market for attacking players. The futures of both Aubameyang and Lacazette remain up in the air, meaning the Spaniard may have to act quickly to replace either man.

Potential is there but more goals are needed if Kluivert does come as a replacement – TBR View

Despite his excellent pedigree and natural striking instincts stemming from his father, Kluivert’s goal output is nothing to shout home about.

He has just seven in all competitions this season. Furthermore, he only bagged twice last season in over 30 games.

Kluivert, then, is hardly prolific. However, he does seem to have excellent work ethic and has cited Cristiano Ronaldo as an influence in the past, calling the Juventus striker ‘a top professional’ who ‘lives for the sport’.

With the talent Kluivert has, he has time on his side to develop. And if he can instill come of that ‘CR7’ mentality and work into his game, then Arsenal could well have a top player on their hands.
