Report: Arsenal, Liverpool and Spurs in race to sign 24-year-old
Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur are amongst the host of clubs being kept informed about Franck Kessie, with 90min reporting that the midfielder is very interested in heading to the Premier League when his contract expires.
What’s the story?
The likelihood of Kessie leaving AC Milan next summer appears to have increased. 90min reports that the Ivorian’s deal at San Siro expires at the end of the campaign.
It is suggested that he has rejected the Rossoneri’s latest offer. Milan have however, not given up hope of agreeing fresh terms with Kessie.
But there are a host of Premier League clubs monitoring the situation.
90min claims that Liverpool, the Gunners and Spurs have been asked to be kept informed about Kessie. Meanwhile, Everton, Leicester City and Chelsea are also keen on the midfielder.
Meanwhile, it is being reported that Kessie believes that he would be well-suited to the Premier League. Thus, a move to England sits high on his priority list.
Huge coup for Arsenal if they could beat Liverpool and Spurs to Kessie
Based on previous reports, it would appear that Tottenham have set the early pace in the race to sign Kessie.
It was recently claimed that Fabio Paratici had opened talks over a move. In fact, it was reported that he had been offered a £130,000-a-week deal.
So it would be a huge coup if Arsenal could go on to win the race.
Of course, Liverpool and Chelsea can offer targets Champions League football this season. And it is hard to see either finishing out of the top four this term.
The Gunners are still building. But their most recent result suggests that they are building something exciting.
Adding a player of Kessie’s calibre next summer would be a huge statement of intent.
