Arsenal are amongst the sides who have been admirers of Cristian Romero this summer as Spurs look to seal a deal for the defender, according to a report from Calciomercato.
Romero may well be on his way to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in this window.

The 23-year-old is reportedly prepared to sign a contract until 2026. Spurs meanwhile, have apparently made a bid worth up to £47 million for the Argentina international.
But perhaps they may not be the only side who have shown interest in bringing him to North London this summer.

According to Calciomercato, Arsenal and Manchester United have always liked Romero.
Arsenal surely no longer pursuing Romero with £50m deal close
There is nothing in the report to suggest that the Gunners are no longer keen on the youngster.
But obviously, it would appear that Arsenal are close to announcing the arrival of a new defender.
It was reported earlier on Wednesday afternoon that a £50 million deal for Ben White is complete. He has apparently been at Arsenal’s training ground today.
With that in mind, it is hard to see Mikel Arteta’s men also rivalling Spurs for Romero.
Arsenal do appear to be conducting quite the overhaul of their squad. However, spending almost £100 million on two new centre-backs is surely highly unlikely. They already several options in that position.
They have much bigger priorities elsewhere. So once White is through the door, the big fees are surely going to be spent on other areas of the squad.
But perhaps Romero may be a player that they decide to keep on their radar should a move to Spurs fall through in this window.
