Report: Arsenal handed Odegaard blow as Ancelotti looks to keep ace
Carlo Ancelotti will block an exit for Arsenal target Martin Odegaard and Dani Ceballos.
According to Cuarto, the Italian wants to retain the duo after injury to Toni Kroos.
Real Madrid announced two days ago that the German had picked up a pubalgia issue, and his recovery will be monitored.
Arsenal have been linked with a move for the Norway international over the last week or so.
According to reports last week, £35m-rated Odegaard was worried about his role at the club. Mikel Arteta’s side were refusing to give up their pursuit of the ace.
However, it seems they won’t be signing the ace this summer after the injury blow for Kroos.
Arsenal seem to be pushing for Maddison as Ancelotti hands club Odegaard blow
At £35m, the Norwegian captain proves to be an extremely attractive prospect to sign this summer.
I mean, after his loan spell last season, signing the midfielder would be a smart move.
However, the club seems to have their eye on another playmaker.
James Maddison has appeared as the main target for Arsenal as Ancelotti hands the club a blow in pursuit of Odegaard.
But, you feel as though the Englishman is the better target for Mikel Arteta. As well as his playmaking prowess, the star has an eye for goal after scoring 11 goals last term.
Despite a blow in their move for Odegaard, it seems the Gunners have more important priorities in the remaining weeks of the window.
