Arsenal were willing to drop their asking price for Eddie Nketiah but The Athletic reports that Crystal Palace have still walked away from talks.
Nketiah seemed one of the most likely candidates to leave Arsenal in the final hours of the transfer window.

The 22-year-old’s deal expires next summer. And it was reported at the weekend that Palace had been confident of striking a deal for the striker.
However, The Athletic is now claiming that the Eagles are prioritising a move for Celtic star Odsonne Edouard.
That comes despite Arsenal being willing to reduce their asking price for Nketiah. Having wanted £20 million, the Gunners are prepared to consider offers of around £15 million.

The report adds that Nketiah is now expected to stay at the Emirates, barring any late twists.
Blow for Arsenal and Nketiah as Crystal Palace look elsewhere
Nketiah has the potential to contribute for Mikel Arteta’s side this season. But it does appear to be best for both him and Arsenal if he does secure a move.
Palace looks to be a fantastic club for the youngster. They need more options up front. And Nketiah has shown glimpses of what he can do at the highest level.
Arsenal meanwhile, would surely love to sell a few more players in the hope that it could pave the way for a late incoming or two.
And Nketiah will be aware that he is unlikely to play regularly if he stays put.
So it is a real blow for both that Palace are seemingly looking elsewhere.
Given his contract situation, it also presents Arsenal with a dilemma for after the deadline passes.
