Report: Arsenal could demand Dusan Vlahovic in swap bid

Arsenal could demand Dusan Vlahovic in a swap deal should Juventus make a bid for Gabriel Magalhaes, according to a report from Calciomercatoweb.

Juve have been linked with Gabriel on a few occasions over the last few months. Tuttosport reported in the summer that the Brazilian was open to joining the Old Lady.

Unsurprisingly, the centre-back ended up staying put. And he has since been outstanding for Mikel Arteta’s side on their way to setting the pace in the Premier League.

Arsenal could demand Vlahovic in swap for Gabriel

Juventus remains admirers of the 24-year-old, who Arsenal apparently value at £43 million. And it seems that Massimiliano Allegri’s men could be preparing an offer for the former Lille star.

According to Calciomercatoweb, Juve could make a bid worth £34.4 million plus add-ons for Gabriel. The offer would also involve Arthur Melo joining Arsenal on loan with an option to buy. It is noted that Liverpool are not planning to keep the midfielder.

However, the report adds that that offer is unlikely to be enough for Arsenal. And with that, the Gunners may demand that Vlahovic moves instead.

Vlahovic has been linked with a surprise exit. Journalist Ben Jacobs posted on Twitter that there is a very real chance that the Serbian will leave Turin in 2023. And he could go next month.

Jacobs noted that Arsenal are yet to register an interest this time around. However, they made a big play for Vlahovic during the most recent January window.

Vlahovic has a decent record since his £67 million move to Turin. He has 16 goals in 36 games. And at 22, there is scope for the youngster to improve dramatically.

It would be a huge statement if Arsenal could bring him to the Emirates. A swap with Gabriel – who Mikel Arteta labelled ‘incredible‘ – looks highly unlikely, in truth. But it would be interesting to see how the supporters would feel if such a deal was possible.
