According to The Daily Star, Arsenal have lined up two alternatives if their move to sign Youri Tielemans fails – AC Milan star Sandro Tonali and Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder Moises Caicedo.
The Gunners have long been linked with a move to sign the Belgian from Leicester City. Mikel Arteta’s side were first rumoured to be interested all the way back in January, but for one reason or another, Arsenal haven’t made their move for him just yet.
Arsenal line up two alternatives for Tielemans – Tonali and Caicedo
The report claims that Arsenal will test Leicester City’s resolve this week with a bid to sign Tielemans.
The talented midfielder has entered the final year of his contract, which means he should available for a bargain fee. However, it has been claimed that Leicester are ‘notoriously tough negotiators,’ which makes this deal far from a guarantee.
As a result, Arsenal have now lined up two players as alternative options – Tonali and Caicedo.
Tonali played an integral part in helping his AC Milan side win the Serie A title last season. Branded as an ‘incredible player‘ and compared to Italy legend Andrea Pirlo, the 22-year-old would be a really good signing for the Gunners.
Caicedo, on the other hand, is a wanted man in the Premier League.

The 20-year-old bossed the game against Manchester United at Old Trafford on the opening day of the new season.
He has been sensational for Brighton and a number of clubs in the Premier League have now been linked with a move to sign him.
Liverpool and Arsenal have been joined by Erik Ten Hag’s United in the race to sign Caicedo, but Brighton are reluctant to let him go this summer.
With just over a week left in the transfer window, it will be interesting to see who Arsenal will go after. Tielemans clearly seems to be the top target, but if they can’t get him, Caicedo or Tonali would be excellent options.
