Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta wants to sign more cover for Kieran Tierney, according to the Evening Standard.
It seems as though Arsenal are still chasing a transfer for Hibernian defender Josh Doig.
The Gunners and West Ham have asked the Scottish side to lower their asking price and are unwilling to meet the current fee. Hibs are allegedly demanding £5m plus add-ons for the young left-back.
News comes just under two weeks after the club completed a deal for Nuno Tavares.
The former Benfica man joined the team for £7million, initially thought as back-up to Tierney. However, Arteta seemingly feels as though the north London side need more cover.
Ashley Cole has labelled Arsenal’s Scotsman a ‘warrior‘.

Arteta’s chase for cover runs risk of saturation
News that Arteta wants yet more cover at left-back means he runs the risk of saturating the Arsenal squad.
Signing cover for Tierney was the priority following the news of a proposed departure for Sead Kolasinac. The goal was achieved when Nuno Tavares arrived on 10 July. Anything more would be hazardous for the side’s transfer business.
Deals normally take weeks to complete.
Focusing too much on signing the likes of Doig means the Gunners aren’t prioritising more important positions.
Arsenal still require a central midfielder, number 10 and possibly a right-back. How can they sign them, if they are focusing on an already strengthened position?
