Arsenal are set to sign Marquinhos from Sao Paulo in ten days time, as they look to start a summer of investment in their squad.
Reports from Brazil claim that the deal will be confirmed on the first day that the English transfer window is open, on June 10.
Globo Esporte say that everything is in place to get the deal done after a stand-off over the promising forward’s contract.
An agreement could not be found over a suitable release clause and Arsenal have stepped in amid that uncertainty to get a deal to the brink of being done.

Arsenal to sign Marquinhos in ten days
Their report reads: “São Paulo and Marquinhos have already accepted the offer of the London team.
“The expectation is that the deal will be sealed in ten days, when the English transfer window opens, on June 10.
“The club should receive a first payment in June and another in the second half of 2022.
“It is admitted that the amount of 3.5 million euros (£2.97 million) that the English will pay is low, but that there was great risk of Marquinhos leaving the team in two months without generating any revenue.“

It was reported earlier this month that Marquinhos is seen as one for the future at Arsenal and not a first team option for next season.
Mikel Arteta has put a lot of faith in youth at Arsenal, but it seems that does not extend to throwing the youngster straight into English football next term.
As ever with young players, you cannot rule out that they will surprise you, but it seems that the Gunners are taking a patient approach with this one.
