Report shares Arteta’s plan for Marquinhos at Arsenal once he's signed
Impending new signing Marquinhos is seen as one for the future at Arsenal and not a first team option for next season.
The Telegraph claim that the Brazilian should not be seen as someone who is going to come in and make an immediate impact in north London.
It was reported last week that Arsenal are just preparing paperwork and then they can sign the teenager from Sao Paulo.
The Telegraph report confirms that Arsenal are close to a deal for Marquinhos, which looks set to be worth in the region of £3 million.
Marquinhos is one for the future at Arsenal
Mikel Arteta has of course built a young squad at the Emirates Stadium and shown immense faith in youth this season.
But it does not appear that extends to Marquinhos next season, with Arteta getting him in with the years ahead in mind.
The same report says that Arsenal were planning to be in the Europa League next season so missing out on the Champions League would not mean they have gone off plan.
Quality players such as Gabriel Jesus, Youri Tielemans and Ruben Neves are on the agenda, who can come in and make an impression next term.
Clubs are always on the lookout for the best young talent and it is easy to see Arsenal making a profit on the young Brazilian if nothing else.
Of course, the deal going ahead amid the backdrop of a disappointing time at the club, where fourth place looks to have slipped from their grasp and their fate is no longer in their own hands.
