Report: Arsenal and Villa make Emi Buendia bids
Arsenal and Aston Villa have both confirmed their interest in Emi Buendia by making bids of over £30 million for the Norwich City star, according to a report from The Sun.
Buendia looks set to be on the move this summer. It was recently reported by the Daily Mail that the Canaries are resigned to losing the Argentinian.
And it appears that they have now stepped up their interest.
The Sun is reporting that both the Gunners and Villa have now made bids. It is claimed that they have both offered over £30 million for the 24-year-old.
The report suggests that a deal could be close. However, Norwich have no intention of letting Buendia leave for anything less than £40 million.
Exciting statement if Arsenal win Buendia race with bids made
It does appear that Arsenal will need greater creativity this summer. Recent reports have suggested that Martin Odegaard is set to stay with Real Madrid.
So following that by getting Buendia in would be a big statement.
He was the best player in the Championship last season. He scored 15 goals and provided 16 assists.
It is also easy to forget that he also contributed seven assists during Norwich’s previous year in the Premier League.
He is a player with a piece of magic up his sleeve. But he is also unafraid of getting stuck in and helping the team by putting in a shift.
Villa look set to provide some stern competition – judging by the bid reports.
But it is an exciting step that Arsenal have taken by making a big-money bid.
And it appears that it may not be long until Arsenal and Villa fans have a better idea of where his future lies.
