If there’s one player who Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are both desperate to sign, it’s Fiorentina star Dusan Vlahovic.
The Serbian has been absolutely incredible this year. He has scored 32 goals in 2021 and is just two strikes away from breaking Cristiano Ronaldo’s phenomenal Serie A record of most goals in a calendar year.
Vlahovic has been heavily linked with a move to the two North London clubs in recent months. Arsenal are looking to replace Alexandre Lacazette and potentially even Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, while Tottenham are preparing themselves for life after Harry Kane.
Vlahovic would be a sensational signing for either club, but he’ll cost a lot of money in January.
Fiorentina set a new asking price for Arsenal and Tottenham-linked Vlahovic
As we near the start of the January transfer window, rumours about new signings are gaining pace. Speculation over Arsenal and Tottenham’s interest in Vlahovic is getting stronger, but Fiorentina are pretty relaxed about the situation.
Gazzetta dello Sport revealed yesterday that La Viola have no interest in selling Vlahovic in January. They are keen to keep holding of him until the end of this season, but there is something that will change their mind.
The report claims that if Arsenal, Tottenham or any other interested club comes in with a ‘sensational’ offer of about €100 million (£85m), they will consider letting their star Serbian leave.
That means both Arsenal and Spurs will have to break their transfer records if they want to sign him next month.

TBR View:
Vlahovic, still only 21, is a star in Italy. He has been one of the best players in Serie A since the start of last season and it’s only a matter of time before he moves on to a bigger club.
If reports over the last few months are to be believed, Arsenal and Spurs are really keen. Both clubs view him as the perfect striker, but Vlahovic isn’t ready to join either of them just yet. That could prove to be a problem in the January transfer window, but if they can convince him, he might be worth every penny.
Labelled as a ‘very strong forward‘ by AC Milan boss Stefano Pioli, Vlahovic has everything in his game. His potential is absolutely massive, and under a good manager and with better players around him, he could become one of the best strikers in the world in the very near future.
It is unlikely that either Arsenal or Tottenham will fork out £85 million to sign him next month. The summer transfer window seems a lot more realistic, but the longer the two North London clubs wait, more will be the competition for his signature.
