Tottenham Hotspur boss screamed at Bryan Gil to tackle harder last night and left the player really confused, according to Football.London.
Conte’s men were held to a goalless draw against Eintracht Frankfurt and will feel disappointed to have not picked up three points.
Spurs created some decent chances throughout the game and put in a far superior display to the one they offered up against Arsenal.
And there was a surprise cameo appearance from Gil in the final 15 minutes as he replaced Richarlison, who didn’t enjoy his best evening.
Gil has enjoyed a difficult spell in north London after making the £21 million switch from Sevilla last summer (Independent). But the Spanish winger was handed his first minutes of the season by Conte last night.

Conte screamed at Gil
The Spain U21 international worked extremely hard and his technical ability was on display. But his boss was furious in one moment on the touchline.
Conte screamed at Gil and slammed his fist into the palm of his other hand, seemingly gesturing for the player to tackle harder.
The youngster was apparently confused by his boss’ actions and held his arms outwards. The Italian then turned back around and repeated the same gesture to his player.

Gil put in a decent shift after replacing Richarlison last night, but it’s easy to see why Conte has doubts over the player. There were moments of quality from the youngster, paired with a willingness to work hard.
But there were also moments when Gil was outmuscled by the Frankfurt defenders.
Alasdair Gold recently claimed that Gil was desperate to leave Tottenham this summer in search of regular first-team football. But Conte admitted that he blocked the move due to not being able to secure a replacement in time.
The Spaniard finally got a taste of first-team action last night though and will be hoping to gain more opportunities over the coming weeks. But he will certainly have to display more aggression to impress his boss in Conte.
