Leeds United have been waiting for defensive signings for a little while now, and just like London buses, two have now come along at once.
Indeed, it has been reported that Joe Rodon is closing in on a loan move to Elland Road from Tottenham, and now, according to Fabrizio Romano, Max Aarons is also closing in on a move to Leeds.
This is a very interesting move to say the least.
For the longest time, Aarons has been tipped for a massive move. Manchester United and Bayern Munich have even been linked in recent times, but now, he’s set for a move to Leeds.

The Whites certainly need a right-back at the moment. Luke Ayling was up to his old tricks on the opening day of the Premier League season as he gifted Cardiff the freedom of Elland Road down his flank throughout the game.
Aarons would provide a great option at right-back, and, of course, it goes without saying that he’s a Daniel Farke favourite.
Described as an ‘outstanding’ player during Farke’s time at Norwich, Aarons was one of the first names on the teamsheet during both of the Canaries’ promotion seasons under the German.

Sadly, this move probably means that Cody Drameh will continue to be starved of opportunities at Elland Road, and that is a real shame given that the full-back was absolutely brilliant during his loan spell with Luton Town last season that ended with promotion.
What the future holds for Drameh remains to be seen, the defender would probably be welcomed back at Luton if he was to become available on the market, and it is hard to imagine he will be sticking around as a third choice right-back behind both Aarons and Ayling if this deal gets done.
