Manchester United want to sign Youri Tielemans from Leicester City amid interest from Arsenal throughout the summer.
The Times report that new United boss Erik ten Hag has prioritised improving his midfield and sees Tielemans as a potential option.
United look set to splash a huge chunk of their budget on Frenkie de Jong from Barcelona, but ten Hag still wants more for his midfield.
But the de Jong deal means they have to look at more cost effective ways to do that, with Christian Eriksen also a target.

Manchester United want Tielemans
Tielemans has just one year left on his Leicester contract, and that means that he could be available for a more reasonable price this summer.
Earlier this month, it was reported that Tielemans was one of Arsenal’s priority targets, alongside impending arrival Gabriel Jesus.
But it seems they may have gone a bit cold on Tielemans, with other deals such as Lisandro Martinez coming to the fore.
That said, United are looking to hijack their attempt to sign the Argentine too, hopeful that ten Hag’s connection with him can tip the balance.

Tielemans has been described as ‘special‘ by former Leicester captain Wes Morgan, and produced a masterclass against United in October.
It could be frustrating for Arsenal and their fans if United get their act together and steal two top transfer targets under their noses.
That said, Arsenal’s transfer operation has been working on targets for months, while United’s new regime is still finding its feet and progress has been slow on a number of deals at Old Trafford thus far.
It could be an intriguing, with Mikel Arteta and ten Hag potentially doing battle for the same players in the weeks ahead.
