Report: AC Milan now very interested in Leeds target Noah Okafor
Leeds fans will be desperate to see another forward signed in one of the coming windows. There are real concerns that not landing another established goalscorer in the final days of the summer will come back to haunt Jesse Marsch’s side.
Of course, the name at the top of the wishlist throughout the window was Charles De Ketelaere. Andrea Radrizzani confirmed that he was a top target. And reports suggested that Leeds had agreed a £34 million fee for the Belgian.
However, De Ketelaere ended up snubbing the chance to join Leeds and instead headed for AC Milan.
Unfortunately, it appears that the Whites now need to be wary of history repeating itself.
Reports earlier this month claimed that Leeds are now eyeing Salzburg striker Okafor.
The Switzerland international has made a brilliant start to the campaign, scoring seven goals in all competitions.
One of those strikes was a ‘wonderful‘ finish against Milan in the Champions League. And it seems that that goal left a mark on the Rossoneri.
Calciomercato reports that Milan now have Okafor near the top of their list as they look to sign a new striker.
Milan very interested in Okafor
Missing out on De Ketelaere and the upcoming battle for Okafor highlights the problem Leeds now face in the market.
The Whites are looking to take that step forward and put pressure on the Premier League top-half stalwarts in the coming years. And with that, they are looking to be ambitious in the market.
While they are in that process, they are going to miss out on some exciting targets. But there will be some who see moving to Elland Road as the best option.
With Marsch at the helm, perhaps Okafor may see the appeal of becoming the latest Salzburg player to join Leeds.
