A report from Dutch outlet Voetbal 24 says Belgian wonderkid Jeremy Doku could be ‘on his way’ to Liverpool this summer. The Rennes star impressed at Euro 2020 under Roberto Martinez, featuring twice against Finland and Italy. Now, Liverpool are keen, but Rennes want as much as £38million.
Liverpool have been strongly linked with a move for 19-year-old Doku for some time, stretching back to his time at Belgian club Anderlecht. The Belgium international joined Rennes after having a hand in 13 goals during his 37 appearances. His form at Rennes last season, was questionable.
Just two goals and four assists came in 37 appearances for the Ligue 1 side. But that has not deterred Jurgen Klopp, with the German gaffer impressed by his form at Euro 2020. The report claims that he could be ‘on his way’ to Anfield, but the club would have to pay £38million to convince Rennes.

Doku in, Shaqiri out is excellent Liverpool business
Xherdan Shaqiri is the subject of an offer from French side Lyon, with the Reds expected to sell the 96-time Switzerland international for around £13million. He is now about to enter his thirties and Liverpool need to replace with him a winger who is young, and for the future of the club.
On one flank, Liverpool have Harvey Elliott has cover who has impressed Klopp this summer during pre-season. Diogo Jota is cover up top. But there is space out wide as cover for Sadio Mane – and Doku is ideal. He is expensive at £38million but at just 19, he can be anything he wants to be.
TransferMarkt say Doku is represented by the same agency as Ibrahima Konate.
