Tottenham Hotspur winger Heung-Min Son was actually booed by some fans after a moment in the second-half against Marseille, according to the Athletic.

Son has been a key player for Tottenham ever since making the £22 million switch from Bayer Leverkusen back in 2015 (BBC).

The winger has struggled to find form so far this season and is yet to find the back of the net in seven appearances for Spurs.

The South Korean’s woes were on show last night as he put in another below-par performance by his standards.

But he still managed to force Chancel Mbemba into making a last-ditch tackle that saw the Marseille defender sent off.

And the moment did turn the game around for Spurs as they went on to win 2-0 thanks to a Richarlison brace.

Son was booed by some fans

The Athletic reports that there were a ‘few boos’ after Son scuffed an effort wide in the second-half against Marseille.

Son picked up the ball on the edge of the box and there was a decent opening for the 30-year-old.

But the South Korean star completely miscued his shot and it went wide of the post.

The moment sums up Son’s form at the moment as the winger is clearly struggling with confidence.

There were also other moments in the game when Son was dispossessed easily, notes the Athletic.

TBR View: It’s only a matter of time before Son starts firing again

Throughout his Spurs career, Son has had these types of spells where cannot seem to find the back of the net. And he usually bounces back and puts a brilliant run of form together.

There’s no doubt that Son will start firing once again, he just needs one goal to get him going.

But it’s brilliant for Antonio Conte that he now has another option in Richarlison. The Brazilian is clearly in fine-form at the moment and is staking his claim for a regular starting place.
