Everton target Mohamed Camara is determined to leave Red Bull Salzburg, and dreams of playing in the Premier League.

That’s according to Salzburg 24, who also suggest that Camara is the most expensive player in the Austrian Bundesliga, but there are currently no concrete offers for the midfielder.

The Mali international has been frozen out at Salzburg this season and has yet to make an appearance.

The 22-year-old was even left out of a behind-closed-doors friendly last Sunday that only reserve team players were selected for.

Although he’s still at the club, there are clearly no plans for him to play any football right now.

Camara has a contract that runs until 2025, and given how highly Salzburg value him, it would be an expensive deal for Everton to do.

He’s currently seen as an alternative to Idrissa Gueye, a player Everton believe could form a great partnership with new signing Amadou Onana.

However, if Frank Lampard’s side manage to do a deal with PSG for Gueye, then this would likely end Everton’s interest in Camara.

Everton are also in the market for a striker, with Serhou Guirassy the latest played linked a move, and the cost of this transfer might effect their efforts to sign Camara.

This wouldn’t be the first time a Premier League side have decided against a move for the Malian, with Salzburg 24 suggesting his former manager Jesse Marsch also rejected a deal to sign Camara.

If Everton have an offer accepted for Camara, it seems his willingness to come to England would make personal terms easy enough to negotiate.

However, the player could be left waiting in limbo until other deals are concluded to know where he’ll be playing this season.
