Hector Bellerin may have been dealt a blow as he looks to seal a loan move to Inter Milan, with Calciomercato reporting that the Nerazzurri have opened talks with Denzel Dumfries as Arsenal dig their heels in over the Spaniard.
Bellerin’s exit has looked to be on the cards for some time. And he has reportedly told Inter that he hopes to join them this summer.

Arsenal however, are yet to give his departure the green light. Inter apparently want to take Bellerin on an initial loan with an option to buy.
And while the Gunners are reportedly open to a loan deal, they want the Serie A champions to agree to an obligation to buy.

According to Calciomercato, Bellerin’s agents are working to persuade Arsenal to change their stance. It is claimed that they are certain that they can convince the Gunners to agree a compromise.
However, Inter are not hanging around either. Calciomercato claims that talks with Dumfries’s agent Mino Raiola have started.
And it is suggested that Inter plan to pursue the Dutchman if Arsenal do not change their stance on loaning Bellerin.
Would Arsenal be better off keeping Bellerin than agreeing loan with option with Inter?
You can see why Arsenal are reluctant to loan Bellerin out. Should he endure a difficult spell and return next summer, the Gunners will find themselves in a tough position.
His contract expires in 2023. So his value is only likely to drop from this point on.
So holding onto the £110,000-a-week star may not be a terrible idea. Arsenal do not yet have a replacement through the door.
Perhaps the talk of Dumfries moving to Inter will tempt the Gunners to reconsider their stance. They may also feel that a move to San Siro is best for all parties.
