Report: Arsenal are willing to loan £110k-a-week star out this summer - but on one condition
Arsenal are willing to let Hector Bellerin leave on loan amid interest from Inter Milan – but only on one condition, according to Calciomercato.
Bellerin is one of the key targets for the Nerazzurri as they look to replace Achraf Hakimi following his switch to Paris Saint-Germain.
It comes amid reports that he is expected to leave the Emirates this summer. He has apparently told the Serie A winners that he wants to join them in this window.
The 26-year-old has arguably not kicked on as many probably expected when he first emerged into the Arsenal first-team. And it looks to be the right time for all parties for a move to be agreed.
However, it appears that there are still hurdles to clear before he ends up at San Siro.
According to Calciomercato, Inter are keen to take the Spaniard on loan with an option to buy.
However, while Arsenal are reportedly open to agreeing a loan, they want an obligation to buy included. They value Bellerin at £17.1 million – higher than what Inter want to pay.
Agreeing loan option for Bellerin would be gamble from Arsenal
Arsenal are not in the strongest position with Bellerin’s contract. The right-back’s deal expires in two years.
So you can understand why the Gunners may be reluctant to agree an option to buy.
Should Inter opt against a move in a year, Bellerin’s value will likely drop considerably. And, in that situation, Arsenal would presumably not be welcoming an in-form player back into their ranks.
An obligation certainly works. Bellerin is on £110,000-a-week, so knowing where his long-term future lies would be a boost to Edu and Arteta.
But it appears that they have work to do to make such a deal happen.
