Renato Sanches was seriously impressed with Arsenal defender Gabriel Magalhaes after his display at Stamford Bridge.

Gabriel grabbed the winning goal against Chelsea as the Gunners beat their London rivals 1-0 yesterday.

The £27 million man managed to get on the end of Bukayo Saka’s corner just after the hour mark.

Now, Sanches has taken to Instagram and praised the Brazilian for his commanding display.

Sanches impressed with Gabriel

Gabriel posted on the social media platform following yesterday’s impressive win.

And Sanches replied underneath the post with one heart and a fire emoji.

Jeunes Footeux linked Sanches with a possible move to Arsenal earlier this year and claimed he was a priority target this summer.

But the Portuguese midfielder completed a switch from Lille to Paris Saint-Germain back in August.

Arsenal were keen to bolster their midfield options over the summer but failed with a late attempt to sign Douglas Luiz from Aston Villa.

But Arteta’s men have coped without the extra man in midfield so far and yesterday’s win put them back above Manchester City at the top of the Premier League table.

Gabriel has come under some scrutiny this season, despite Arsenal’s brilliant start. The 24-year-old has shown a slightly rash side to his game but performed exceptionally well yesterday.

The Brazilian has formed a brilliant partnership with William Saliba at centre-back, which has been pivotal to Arsenal’s near-flawless start to the new campaign.

Gabriel will have to work on his composure but it’s his aggression that compliments Saliba’s game perfectly.

Arteta will be delighted with the centre-back’s display yesterday as his side completely stifled Chelsea’s threat on the day.

Arsenal could have scored more than one goal too as they created decent chances for both Gabriel Jesus and Martin Odegaard.

But it was a statement win for the Gunners and they look like genuine title contenders right now.
