'Really impressed': Some fans hail Arsenal teenager who plays like Zaha
Arsenal Under-21s were in EFL Trophy action last night away at Swindon.
Sadly, the young Gunners got their campaign off on a losing note as the hosts ran out 2-1 winners.
However, there was still plenty of optimism as far as Arsenal fans were concerned.
Joel Ideho got his first goal for the club above Under-18s level, an excellent low strike which gave Lewis Ward no chance.
The 18-year-old’s effort cancelled out Mohammed Dabre’s opener for a 1-1 half-time score.
Arsenal couldn’t build on their goal, however, and conceded again in the second half.
Dion Conroy conjured up the winner on 69 minutes, his header coming off Kido Taylor-Hart before going into the net.
Despite the result, Arsenal and Swindon fans alike were pleased with Ideho’s performance:

It will be difficult but he’s definitely got potential. If he can become more consistent he has a chance.— Jeorge Bird (@jeorgebird) September 7, 2021

We hit the post early on through Biereth. Keeper been very sloppy playing out the back loses it in dangerous areas. Lopez been very good and assisted Ideho. Ideho started poorly but recovered very well and playing well. Patino dictating player really well. Biereth decent— William 🦋 (@AFCWilliam__) September 7, 2021
Ideho #51 looks very good imo— Ron Jacoby (@eb5b852944f142d) September 7, 2021
Ideho joined Arsenal last year from Ajax’s academy, initially linking up with the Under-18s.
He was promoted to the Under-23s this summer and has a goal and an assist to his name at that level, which includes EFL Trophy games.
