'Really do rate him': Arteta is a very big fan of 21-year-old prospect Arsenal have just loaned out - reporter

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is a huge fan of young striking prospect Tyreece John-Jules, who has just been loaned to Ipswich.

On his YouTube channel, Journalist Charles Watts has commented on the move which took the 21-year-old hitman to the League 1 club.

Watts said that the striker has had rotten luck with injuries at Blackpool and Sheffield Wednesday and needs a change of fortune at Portman Road.

But he pointed out that Arteta is a major admirer of the Englishman, who caught his manager’s eye almost instantly.

Arteta is a fan of John-Jules

He said: “Tyreese John-Jules has been so unlucky with injury in the last couple of years. Arsenal really do rate John-Jules but he’s had a horrible time with injuries.

“He went to Blackpool and just wasn’t really fit and then went to Sheffield Wednesday and got injured straight away last season.

“He’s joined Ipswich on loan and fingers crossed he can stay fit because he’s a good player. Proper number nine, penalty box striker who does link up.

“Mikel Arteta was a big fan of him when he first arrived, brought him into training in and around the first team and spoke about him in press conferences. He did catch Arteta’s eye, talented player and such a shame about what has gone on with his injuries which have hampered his development.”

Arsenal need more firepower and the long term goal for John-Jules has to be to join the list of academy graduates who make made the grade at the club.

But first, he has to shine in League 1, showing his fitness and quality in front of goal on a regular basis.

Then, he might just catch his manager’s eye once again after a period of frustration, which has not dampened the faith the club have in his quality.
