Real Madrid are now keen to sign Manchester United No.11 Rasmus Hojlund as the Dane finds some form in the Premier League.

That is according to Defensa Central.

So, what is the latest on Rasmus Hojlund at Manchester United? Let’s take a look…

Real Madrid want Hojlund

Well, the Denmark international endured a nightmarish run of 14 Premier League appearances without scoring a goal to kickstart life at Old Trafford – following a £72m move from Atalanta in August.

Now – however – Hojlund has started to find his feet with five goals and two assists in his last five Premier League outings.

As a result of his turnaround, the Manchester United No.11 is now attracting interest from Real Madrid – according to Defensa Central.

The Spanish news outlet believe Real Madrid have now shortlisted Hojlund as an alternative to Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappe – in case the Manchester City No.9 or the PSG No.7 cannot be signed.

Hojlund is viewed by some inside the Santiago Bernabeu as a striker who could potentially replace Karim Benzema in the long term, with Real Madrid scouts keeping a close eye on the 21-year-old’s development.

Across all competitions, the Copenhagen-born forward has scored 11 goals and provided two assists in 29 appearances so far this season.

Real Madrid interest actually reflects well on Manchester United

Some Manchester United fans may be feeling a bit worried as Real Madrid circle around Hojlund – who Peter Schmeichel recently called a “very special” talent.

However, the fact Carlo Ancelotti’s side are monitoring the striker should be viewed as something of a success inside Old Trafford, after a number of failures in the transfer market.

Real Madrid are no fools, and rarely get it wrong when it comes to recruitment, so the fact the Spanish giants are fans of Hojlund proves Manchester United found a gem.

Hopefully, Hojlund spends many more years at Old Trafford – despite interest from Real Madrid.
