Real Madrid are looking for a new striker and according to reports from Spain, are keeping a close eye on Tottenham star, Richarlison.

Richarlison has been in fine form over in Qatar for Brazil. He’s scored a couple of goals already – one of which Alan Shearer labelled ‘incredible‘ – and will be looking to add to that tally when Brazil face Cameroon this evening.

However, in worrying news for Tottenham, it seems Richarlison’s fine form is attracting the attention of Real Madrid.

According to Defensa Central, Richarlison is on a list of potential signings Los Blancos are considering. Madrid are seeking a long-term replacement for Karim Benzema, with Richarlison among the names being looked at. Another World Cup star, Cody Gakpo, is also said to be of interest to Florentino Perez and his team.

Of course, Spurs only signed Richarlison in the summer and the notion they might sell seems unlikely. But Madrid have shown over the years they’re willing to splash the cash. And if they fail once again to land Kylian Mbappe, they could well swoop.

Richarlison is said to be among the higher earners at Tottenham. The Mirror puts him as earning around £133k-a-week, behind the likes of Kane, Son, and Romero.

TBR’s View: Tottenham can’t sell Richarlison to Real Madrid

This would stink if you’re a Tottenham fan and Antonio Conte. In fact, it’s the sort of transfer which would likely irk Conte that much he’d kick off big time.

Right now, Spurs need to be in the business of building a good squad, not selling their best players. Richarlison is one of those players, and he’s showing in the World Cup just how good he is.

Richarlison could be a real difference maker for Tottenham when the season resumes. Should he even be considered for sale to Madrid, then it would cause a real stir in North London.
