Marcus Rashford featured for the first time as a Barcelona player in their friendly against Vissel Kobe since his move from Manchester United. Here’s how he got on.

Rashford joined Barcelona on loan from the Red Devils, with Ruben Amorim still adamant he isn’t a part of Manchester United’s plans.

The England international enjoyed a somewhat successful loan at Aston Villa, which caught the attention of Hansi Flick at Barcelona, who decided to bring Rashford to the Catalan giants.

How Marcus Rashford played on his Barcelona debut

Rashford came on for Barcelona at half-time, replacing Ballon d’Or candidate Raphinha on the left wing.

His most notable involvement was a cross-field pass that registered as a pre-assist, with Robert Lewandowski eventually assisting new signing, wonderkid Roony Bardghji, who dispatched with aplomb in the 77th minute.

Rashford also had a shot saved by keeper Shota Arai in the 64th minute.

Rashford has a lot more to give to Barcelona, but this season is really make or break for the 27-year-old. A bad loan spell in Spain may all but end the hype around the winger.

Barcelona do have a buy clause for Rashford, but they don’t have to exercise it, so he really is playing for his future at the Spotify Camp Nou.
