Nathan Young-Coombes announced earlier this week that he has left Rangers after two years at Ibrox, to join Premier League side Brentford. The youngster caught the eye at Rangers in the youth set-up – but Young-Coombes has now left, and Rangers fans are not impressed on Twitter.

Young-Coombes, 18, joined Rangers in the first few weeks of 2019 from Chelsea’s youth academy. He instantly had an impact, shining in the UEFA Youth League for Rangers – and scoring numerous goals for the Under-18’s. But the England youth international is now set to depart this summer.

The London-born teen is set to return home, joining newly-promoted Brentford. It is the third club he has played for in the capital, having previously been on the books at Chelsea and Crystal Palace. He confirmed as much with a post on Twitter, thanking Rangers fans.

What are Rangers fans saying about the exit of Young-Coombes?

The youngster struggled to get a look in at senior level. The form of Ryan Kent, Alfredo Morelos, Jermain Defoe, Kemar Roofe, Ianis Hagi, Joe Aribo and plenty of others have been in incredible form. Steven Gerrard has kept faith with his senior players and he was right to do so, going unbeaten.

Rangers fans, though, are not happy to see the young teenager depart Ibrox. Many were confident that Young-Coombes had the potential to become a crucial part of the Rangers side in years to come – but instead, he has departed to join Brentford.
