Rangers fans impressed as Ross McCausland scores brace for B-Team in UEFA Youth League win
Ross McCausland celebrated signing a new three-year deal at Rangers by scoring a brace for the B-team – and Rangers fans are seriously impressed.
McCausland, 18, penned a three-year contract at Rangers earlier this week – posting on Instagram. His potential was on full show on Tuesday night.
Rangers have qualified for the Youth League thanks to the senior team winning the Scottish Premiership. They can qualify for the knockout phase.
But four games stand between themselves, and progression. They take on Swedish side Hammarby, and the winner of another tie.
The first leg has gone in favour of the Gers, winning 3-0 on home soil. In three weeks, they travel to Sweden for the second leg.
A brace from McCausland, came after an opener from Robbie Ure. A brilliant display from the Gers – who will be confident of qualifying.
Beating Hammarby on aggregate, Rangers will face the winner of Bulgarian side Septemvri Sofia, or Albanian outfit Akademia e Futbollit.
What are Rangers fans saying about McCausland display?
It was a brilliant performance from the Gers. McCausland was on fire and completely buoyed by his contract announcement earlier this week.
A Northern Ireland Under-17 international, McCausland got his first when cutting inside from the right flank before curling a shot into the top corner.
Then, McCausland was set through on goal and with a deft touch, he lofted the ball into the net. Rangers fans raved about their teenage ace on Twitter.
