Raheem Sterling says £25m Englishman reportedly wanted by Liverpool is a ‘top player’
Raheem Sterling has claimed that England teammate Jude Bellingham is a “top player”, amid links with Merseyside giants Liverpool.
Man City’s 26-year-old attacker Sterling has given huge praise to his Three Lions teammate.
Bellingham is a £25million teenage sensation putting his name up in lights.
The Borussia Dortmund midfielder is already at a major international tournament with England’s senior team, and he came off the bench in their opening group stage match of Euro 2020 in a win over Croatia.
Aged 17, nothing seems to faze him, and he’s taking everything in his stride.
Eurosport has previously reported that Liverpool are one of the clubs keeping an eye on the central midfielder as a potential target.
Ex-Liverpool player Sterling has been extremely complimentary of the Reds target Bellingham.
“He’s 17 going on 28. He’s so mature for his age,” Sterling said, as quoted by England’s official Twitter account.
“It’s a real nice thing to see him come on [against Croatia]. He really deserves to be here. He’s been showing that with his performances at club level and Champions League. He’s a top player now.”
Bellingham can be England regular for well over a decade
Dortmund’s rising star Bellingham is a potential superstar.
Firstly, he’s already competing on the biggest domestic and international stages in football. Secondly, the Englishman player has earned the trust from some top managers at such a young age. Thirdly, and most importantly, he carries himself like a mature player on the pitch. Moreover, he looks experienced beyond his years, and that’s why it’s frightening to see the kind of player he develops into in the future.
