Chelsea, characteristically, have already been busy in this summer transfer window.
Indeed, the Blues have already secured the signing of Liam Delap, while deals for Geovany Quenda and Willian Estevao have also already been tied up.
Chelsea aren’t finished there either, the Blues also have their eyes on a few further additions, and according to Matt Law, speaking on the London is Blue Podcast, he’s confident about one deal.
Chelsea are keen on Jamie Gittens from Borussia Dortmund, and Law is of the belief that this deal will get done, claiming that there is plenty of optimism surrounding this move.

Matt Law confident Chelsea will sign Jamie Gittens
Jamie Gittens to Chelsea has been a largely discussed transfer topic in recent times, and according to Law, this deal should go through.
Chelsea missed the deadline to sign Gittens prior to the Club World Cup, but that doesn’t mean this transfer won’t be revisited in the coming weeks.
Gittens himself is set to play at the Club World Cup with Dortmund, and he may well put himself in the shop window here.
Gittens has been described as ‘quick’ in the past, but there’s plenty more to his game than just speed.
“Gittens, I think, will happen. Gittens’ talks remain. I think there’s optimism that will happen,” Law said.
“But I would say there are other left-sided wingers who, and I’m not sure you’ll love this, but I think Garnacho remains one of them, who they will keep looking at.”
Premier League signings from Borussia Dortmund
Chelsea are looking at signing a top prospect in the shape of Gittens, but there is reason to suggest that Chelsea should tread carefully here.
Indeed, signing players from the Bundesliga can be a dangerous game, especially from Borussia Dortmund.
Some superstars have arrived from Dortmund over the years, but for every Erling Haaland there’s a Jadon Sancho.
| Premier League signings from Borussia Dortmund | Fee |
| Erling Haaland – Man City | £51m |
| Jadon Sancho – Man Utd | £73m |
| Mahoud Dahoud – Brighton | Free |
| Christian Pulisic – Chelsea | £53m |
| Niclas Fullkrug – West Ham | £30m |
| Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang – Arsenal | £57m |
Chelsea know first-hand just how underwhelming a signing from Dortmund can be after seeing Jadon Sancho last year at Stamford Bridge, and they could be falling into the same trap again here.
Gittens remains an unproven commodity, and Chelsea may need someone a bit more experienced if they want to kick on and challenge at the very top level.
