A number of Tottenham Hotspur fans have taken to Twitter to react to reports claiming that Spurs are in advanced talks with Tobi Omole over a new contract in North London.

Omole has been a stalwart for the under-23s since arriving last year. He had previously been on Arsenal’s books before being released.

The 21-year-old has been on the periphery of the first-team squad this season. He was named on the bench for the ill-fated trip to Crystal Palace in the Premier League during Nuno Espirito Santo’s tenure.

Omole is yet to get as close under Antonio Conte. But it would appear that the Tottenham hierarchy do want the centre-back to stick around beyond this season.

All Nigeria Soccer has reported that Omole is highly thought of at Spurs. And the club have offered him a new contract. It is suggested that talks are now at an advanced stage.

Interestingly, the reports have been met by a mixed reaction on social media. Some believe that Tottenham should prioritise tying down Dilan Markanday amid reports that he could leave.

Markanday has been outstanding for the under-23s. And losing him would be a big blow. So some Spurs fans would rather see an update on the forward.
