‘Pure class’: Kulusevski lauded by BBC pundit after Tottenham win

Garth Crooks has told BBC Sport that the way that Dejan Kulusevski took his goal at the weekend was pure class, while he suggested that the Tottenham Hotspur winger is already becoming a favourite of his.

Kulusevski has made an outstanding start to life in North London. He scored one and set up another in the stunning win against Manchester City earlier this month.

And in truth, he was arguably one of their better players in the defeat to Burnley in midweek. But once again, he was superb on Saturday as Tottenham thrashed Leeds 4-0 at Elland Road.

Kulusevski scored the second goal that looked a key moment in the game. Remarkably, he started the move for the goal in the corner before getting past the likes of Junior Firpo and Diego Llorente with ease.

He then unleashed a brilliant finish into the bottom corner, beating Illan Meslier at his near post.

No player completed more dribbles than the Swede (Whoscored). And he certainly did his best to still stand out alongside the record breakers, Harry Kane and Son Heung-min.

Certainly, Crooks suggested that Kulusevski is well on his way to proving to be an inspired signing for Tottenham.

“I said when I selected this kid for my team last week that he looked very comfortable in a Tottenham shirt,” he told BBC Sport.

“Well, he’s rapidly becoming a favourite of mine. The way Dejan Kulusevski took his goal against Leeds was just pure class.”

Kulusevski currently making Tottenham decision on his future easy

It is strange to think that Kulusevski is currently a loan signing – simply because it is currently hard not to think about the 21-year-old being part of the long-term project at Tottenham.

Right now, it is hard to see Tottenham not keeping Kulusevski permanently. As Crooks suggests, he has settled absolutely brilliantly considering he was not a regular fixture in the Juventus side.

Obviously, he needs to keep this form going over the remaining weeks of the campaign and into next season. But should he do so, Spurs’ decision will surely be a no-brainer.
