Tottenham Hotspur boss Antonio Conte has praised Dejan Kulusevski following his display for Spurs against Leeds.

The 21-year-old has impressed for Tottenham since joining from Juventus in the January transfer window.

And on Saturday, Kulusevski was in particularly inspired form as Spurs ran out 4-0 winners at Elland Road.

The Sweden international got his second goal in three starts for Tottenham, doubling Spurs’ lead.

He drove into the Leeds area from the right flank before slotting home into the near corner.

Kulusevski then weighed in with two second-half efforts, one saved and the other blocked in front of goal.

In addition, the Spurs newcomer’s style of play also enables Matt Doherty to overlap at will.

Speaking after the game, Conte waxed lyrical about Kulusevski and fellow January signing Rodrigo Bentancur.

“I was very clear when I signed Bentancur and Kulusevski,” football.london quotes Conte as saying.

“Two perfect players for the club, young talented players to develop.

“Kulusevski is a player who is only 21 years old and in these four games he could have scored in every game.

“I think he is showing that he is a fantastic player for the present. But also if he continues in this way he can become a really important player.

“He is strong physically, good technically, he has no fear of the opponent or the tackle.

“It is a good sign, with Harry and Son, also Lucas Moura and Bergwijn, offensively we are good and I am happy for this.”

While Spurs are still far from the finished product, the likes of Kulusevski and Bentancur are great signings which, combined with Tottenham’s longer-serving stars, can provide the building blocks for a superb squad.
