Michael Bridges believes that Manchester City will be monitoring Ange Postecoglou and ready to target the Tottenham Hotspur boss when Pep Guardiola steps aside.
Bridges was speaking on The Optus Sport Football Podcast after Spurs stunned the Etihad Stadium at the weekend and left with a point after a 3-3 draw.
Ange Postecoglou has taken the Premier League by storm this season. The Australian faced a lot of doubters with many downplaying his achievements at Celtic. However, he has silenced any critics emphatically.
Michael Bridges thinks Ange Postecoglou will be next Manchester City manager
Tottenham led the way in the early stages of the season with a stunning brand of football. And you know something special is happening when the fans are largely applauding the players off after a 4-1 loss.

Tottenham have been decimated by injuries and suspensions lately. But they put all of that to one side to draw with Manchester City in an incredible game this past weekend.
Following the game, former Premier League striker Michael Bridges believes that Postecoglou will be lining up on the sideline at the Etihad a lot more often in the future.
“Ange Postecoglou was part of the City Group with the Marinos, obviously went to Celtic, but the City Group have seen what he’s all about,” he told The Optus Sport Football Podcast.
“I reckon that this Premier League season, they’re monitoring him, and that results will concrete the move. When Pep Guardiola decides time is enough at Manchester City, Postecoglou will be the Manchester City manager.
“There you go. Just remember that. Remember this one for a year or two-years time. All right.”
Tottenham fans will hope Australian stays for a long time
Manchester City were reportedly admirers of Postecoglou during his time at Celtic. So it would be no surprise if they were extremely impressed by the work he has done at Tottenham.
Certainly, he has taken little time to capture the imagination of Spurs fans. It is remarkable to think now of where Tottenham were when Antonio Conte left the club last season.
They appeared to be a club in disarray. But Postecoglou has turned them around so quickly.
There is going to be huge excitement for what he could go on and achieve with Tottenham. But you can understand why some may think he may be a name to watch out for once Pep Guardiola leaves Manchester City.
