Pundit Micah Richards has suggested that Tottenham should target Italy boss Roberto Mancini, as well as suggesting him for Everton.

Both Premier League club right now are looking managers ahead of pre-season.

Jose Mourinho was sacked by Spurs during the last campaign, so Ryan Mason took interim charge at the end. Meanwhile, Carlo Ancelotti decided to walk away from Everton this summer to join Real Madrid.

Richards has claimed 56-year-old manager Mancini would be great for either.

“You are watching one of the world’s best managers in his prime and it baffles me why, for instance, Tottenham and Everton have not targeted him,” Richards said

There has been no speculation that Spurs are directly targeting Mancini, but the Telegraph states this week they do admire him.

Italy’s national team manager Mancini did recently sign a new long-term contract in May with his country that keeps him in the role until 2026.

Mancini would be ideal for Tottenham

Mancini is currently helping his Italy team impress at Euro 2020.

They are the country that put down a real marker in the group stages of the competition, so it’ll be intriguing to see if they can follow that up in the knockout phase. They face Austria in the Round of 16 on Saturday night.

On top of his international work, he’s been a success at club level.

He won the Premier League title and FA Cup with Manchester City. In addition, he won silverware with Inter Milan, Galatasaray, Lazio and Fiorentina.
