Romanian pundit Florin Raducioiu has heaped praise on Tottenham Hotspur star Cristian Romero while talking about Radu Dragusin.

Spurs returned to winning ways after a long break following their disappointing defeat to Wolves last month. Romero had a fantastic game, scored the winner and is now earning huge praise, not just from Tottenham fans but also from pundits abroad.

Romanian pundit praises Tottenham defender Cristian Romero

A lot of eyes in Romania have been on Tottenham since they completed the signing of Radu Dragusin in the winter window.

The 22-year-old was amazing during his time at Genoa. He made a fantastic name for himself in the Serie A, so much so that Bayern Munich wanted to sign him.

Spurs beat the German champions for his signature in January, but Dragusin has barely had a look in because of Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero.

While speaking about Dragusin’s first-team chances, Florin Raducioiu, who once played for West Ham, hailed Romero following his performance against Crystal Palace last weekend.

He told Prima Sport: “In the case of Radu Dragusin, it is totally different. He knew very well where he was going. Great attention, because these two players, in this system that the Tottenham coach plays, are two fantastic players.

“Even Romero scored. He is an extraordinary player, a player so strong, so fast and so precise in his passes. It won’t be easy for Radu Drăguşin, because, I repeat, he has two fantastic players in front of him.”

Dragusin will only be a backup at Tottenham

Radu Dragusin is a brilliant player and has a lot of potential, but he was only ever going to be a backup at Tottenham Hotspur.

Spurs have Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero ahead of him in the pecking order. The former has been one of the signings of the Premier League this season, while the 25-year-old Argentine is the vice-captain of the club.

They are among the first names on Ange Postecoglou‘s team sheet every single week, which means the only way Dragusin will get a start is if either of them gets injured or suspended or needs a break.

Until then, Dragusin will have to keep pushing Van de Ven and Romero in training. That will increase the level at Tottenham, which can only be a good thing.
