Tottenham fans will need to wait until Monday to see their team kick off their latest Premier League season but there’s reasons to be cheerful.

The last week or two has seen a real push from the club and they’ve made two big signings in the form of Dominic Solanke and Wilson Odobert.

Indeed, the signing of Odobert from Burnley came out of nowhere yesterday and by the looks of things, Tottenham aren’t done just yet either.

Of course, it is the signing of Solanke that has excited Spurs fans the most.

And on that token, former Scotland midfielder Craig Burley has made a bold top four prediction involving Tottenham and Solanke.

Pundit picks Tottenham for top four finish after signing Dominic Solanke

Speaking on ESPN about the race for the top four and who will win out, Burley has said that the signing of Solanke suddenly puts Tottenham right in the mix.

So much so, that he believes they will snatch fourth spot.

“I think I am going to plump for Tottenham at the moment just because I like Postecoglou,” Burley said.

“They have signed Solanke who I think is a very underrated player, a good player, you know, every consistent, very physical, can link play, score goals, I think he’s perfect for them.”

What else has been said about the top four race?

As always with a new season, there’s been plenty of talk about who will finish where and how.

The pundits love a prediction and Tottenham are always among the clubs mentioned.

Gary Neville has followed the idea Burley has here by going with Tottenham to finish fourth, while others have different ideas.

Former Spurs man Gary Lineker suggested it was ‘touch and go’ between his former club and Liverpool but did plump for the Reds.

Quite whether Solanke can drive Tottenham to that fourth spot, remains to be seen. Danny Murphy has predicted the forward will score 15 goals but whether that’s enough, we’ll have to find out.
