‘Prove some doubters wrong’: Some Newcastle fans hail player after pre-season win

Newcastle United won a pre-season match on Friday against Doncaster Rovers – and some of the club’s fans on Twitter were amazed by the display of their player Ryan Fraser.

The Magpies recored a 3-2 away win yesterday against League One opposition in a thriller.

Fraser, Sean Longstaff and Callum Wilson were all on the scoresheet for the Premier League outfit. In addition, Fraser managed to get an assist.

The £63,000-a-week attacker has thrown down a decent marker in a friendly, so perhaps he’s grabbed the attention of manager Steve Bruce.

Fraser had a difficult debut season last year at St James’ Park. He scored one goal and made three assists in 22 appearances.

The Scottish winger has shown in the past though with Bournemouth he’s got ability. He was key for the south coast club during 208 games for them.

It’s a massive pre-season for Ryan Fraser

Fraser needs to build some momentum in the next couple of weeks to start fresh in the new campaign.

The 27-year-old speedster will hopefully get good minutes in matches next week against Rotherham United and Burton Albion.

He needs better luck with injuries in the 2021/22 campaign. Also, to find the kind of confidence where the quick wide player is confident dribbling at defenders.

A selection of Newcastle supporters on social media believe they could be looking at a new player in Fraser this season.

Here are some Newcastle fans discussing him yesterday:
