Report: Top-flight club enter discussions about loan deal for 19-year-old Leeds prospect
Dutch top-flight club SC Cambuur are reportedly in discussions with Leeds United about young talent Crysencio Summerville.
According to Voetbal International, the Eredivisie club want to sign the 19-year-old on loan for the upcoming 2021/22 season.
It is understood that they have asked Leeds about loaning the Whites prospect, who is someone they previously wanted to sign on loan a couple of years ago when he was on the books at Feyenoord.
The report suggests the Yorkshire club may grant the Dutch teenager a loan to return to his homeland temporarily.
Leeds signed Summerville on a three-year deal from Feyenoord back in 2020.
The winger spent his debut season in English football last year impressing in the Whites Under-23s side, who achieved promotion. He scored six goals and made six assists in the Premier League 2 division.
SC Cambuur, who achieved promotion last season, would give Summerville the opportunity to play senior football in a top tier.
Crysencio Summerville loan could work a treat
On the one hand, it’s great for Leeds to keep their best youngsters at Thorp Arch because the youth teams play the same style as the first team. However, making that step up to senior football is so crucial.
Chelsea’s Mason Mount is a shining example of a loan move to Holland working effectively, so perhaps a Leeds rising star can follow suit.
Summerville is an exciting attacker with pace and skill, but it looks like he may be ready to step up.
