The Czech businessman Daniel Kretinsky acquired a 27 per cent stake at West Ham United this week and Irons fans think they know who he will target in the January transfer window.

Kretinsky is no stranger to football, he co-owns Czech giants Sparta Prague. His acquisition of over a quarter of the shares of West Ham reportedly cost him somewhere between £180 million and £200 million, and he is now the second-largest shareholder at the club, only behind David Sullivan. West Ham fans are absolutely delighted with their progress on the pitch since the start of last season. The supporters have never been too happy with GSB, but with Kretinsky now a part of the board, there could be a big difference.

So, what could West Ham do in the January transfer window?

Czech revolution at West Ham?

West Ham already have two players from the Czech Republic in Tomas Soucek and Vladimir Coufal. Kretinsky knows both of them fairly well as they played for Slavia Prague before, Sparta’s fierce rivals.

The obvious transfer links that will emerge for West Ham fans will be about signing players from the Czech Republic. Recent history shows that they can’t really go wrong and with Kretinsky now on board, they’ll have all the information they need about quality players from over there.

So, who could West Ham sign? Some Irons fans think they know the answer.

West Ham fans think Kretinsky will sign Adam Hlozek

90min first revealed in April that the Hammers are interested in signing Sparta Prague’s teenage sensation Adam Hlozek. The Athletic backed that claim in the summer transfer window.

Those rumours were boosted a few days ago when The Telegraph claimed that Kretinsky wants to establish a development link between his two football clubs – West Ham and Sparta Prague.

Hlozek is a phenomenal talent who has the potential to be a top player in the very near future. With West Ham in need of a new striker, the 19-year-old, who has scored four goals and has provided eight assists already this season, could well be an option.

Some Hammers fans are absolutely convinced that this deal is happening in the January transfer window. Here’s how a few of them reacted on Twitter…
