Crystal Palace’s interest in Arsenal star Eddie Nketiah is ‘genuine’ and they are willing to pay good money to sign him this month.

The Gunners aren’t really expected to make big moves in this window due to FFP regulations. However, if Arsenal can secure a sizeable sale, it would open the door for new signings. Nketiah is attracting interest.

Crystal Palace are ready to pay almost £30m to sign Arsenal’s Eddie Nketiah

Eddie Nketiah has been dividing opinions at Arsenal for a while now – some think he’s good, while others want him gone.

The Englishman was always a prolific goalscorer for the youth sides, but he has struggled to consistently replicate the same at senior level.

That has led to a fair bit of criticism, with Alan Shearer going as far as saying Arsenal cannot win big trophies if Nketiah is the one leading their line.

We told you about Crystal Palace’s loan-with-obligation-to-buy offer for Nketiah yesterday. Now, Ben Jacobs has claimed that the Eagles are willing to sign him permanently this month.

The journalist tweeted: “It (signing a new striker) is not guaranteed. That’s why Mikel Arteta is planning to hold on to Eddie Nketiah.

“Crystal Palace interest is genuine. They are prepared to pay close to £30m. #AFC valuation is a bit higher, but these figures are still irrelevant unless Arsenal change their position.”

Arsenal should consider selling Nketiah

Eddie Nketiah is a very talented footballer, there’s no debate there.

The Englishman, labelled as a ‘very strong’ and ‘fast’ player by Illan Meslier (Goal), has the quality to lead the line in the Premier League, but the pressure of being Arsenal’s number nine has affected him.

A move to Selhurst Park could be great for the 24-year-old, and £30 million is not a bad amount at all for him. Perhaps Edu can even get Crystal Palace to pay a bit more during negotiations.

If the right offer does come in, we think Arsenal should sell Nketiah and use that money to sign a new striker in the coming days.
