Spurs have been dealt a potential blow in their reported pursuit of Maxence Lacroix, with Kicker claiming that the Wolfsburg star has set his sights on joining a Bundesliga rival.
Fabrizio Romano reported earlier this week that Tottenham want Lacroix as Fabio Paratici looks to strengthen his defensive options.

The 21-year-old was outstanding last season as Oliver Glasner’s side booked their spot in the coming campaign’s Champions League group-stages.
Glasner has moved on. And it appears that Mark van Bommel may not get the chance to work with the Frenchman for much longer.

Unfortunately for Tottenham, they may also be set for disappointment.
According to Kicker, Lacroix would like to join RB Leipzig. So far, Jesse Marsch’s men have seen two bids rejected. They have offered around £17.2 million for the youngster.
Wolfsburg would surely rather sell Lacroix to Spurs than RB Leipzig
It would appear that Tottenham have work to do if they indeed want to sign Lacroix.
He is keen to join Die Roten Bullen. And Leipzig are now in the process of bidding for him.
But Spurs must surely have an opening in that Wolfsburg would surely rather sell the starlet to a side outside of the Bundesliga.
Paratici may want to get a move on if he is planning to make a bid in the near future.
Plenty of Spurs fans gave a potential move their backing when the links initially emerged. So it will be very interesting to see what Tottenham’s next step proves to be.
