It felt like a turning point for Tottenham under Antonio Conte this weekend as they managed a superb 3-2 win at Manchester City on Saturday evening.

Harry Kane’s stunning performance, coupled with a few fine displays from other Tottenham players like Cristian Romero, Dejan Kulusevski, and Heung-Min Son. But on the whole, it was a team performance and one which will have delighted Conte.
Indeed, after celebrating full pelt when Kane headed in the winner, Conte made sure to go and congratulate and embrace all his players at the full-time whistle. However, rather interestingly, midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg was caught seemingly ignoring his manager’s advances.
In a clip doing the rounds on social media, Conte can be seen approaching Hojbjerg, before the Dane seems to flick his arms in the air and ignore his boss. Conte, for what it’s worth, seemed a bit perplexed by the whole incident.
Hojbjerg had enjoyed another fine performance for Spurs. So to see this – on initial viewing anyway – was a bit baffling.
TBR’s View: More To This Than Meets The Eye
The clip of Conte and Hojbjerg is certainly a concerning one. However, there was also some further images shared afterwards which did indeed show the pair together.
This could well have been a bit of a misunderstanding. Hojbjerg – who Jose Mourinho loved and lauded as phenomenal – may have just not seen Conte or realised it was him.
Certainly, there doesn’t seem to be any issues within the squad. And after such a fine weekend performance, why would there be? Tottenham have been waiting for their big moment under Conte and this felt like it.
