Arsenal have made six new signings already in this window, but they want more.

The Gunners have filled most of the holes in their squad. Kepa Arrizabalaga, Christian Norgaard and Cristhian Mosquera have improved their squad depth, and none of them cost a lot of money.

Martin Zubimendi and Viktor Gyokeres have also been brought in, and they are expected to be guaranteed starters. We expect Noni Madueke to get a lot of minutes too this season.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang thinks Arsenal should sign Rafael Leao instead of Rodrygo Goes

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was the last Arsenal player to score 20 goals in a Premier League season.

The Gunners haven’t had a prolific goalscorer since the Gabon international’s departure, but many feel Gyokeres will be the one to finally fill their former captain’s shoes.

However, the Swede alone may not be enough to take on Liverpool, who have already spent a fortune in this window and could still sign Alexander Isak.

That is why Arsenal are on the market for another attacker, and although Rodrygo Goes is a popular name among fans, Aubameyang has suggested that he would rather see his old club sign Rafael Leao from AC Milan instead.

On The Residency on Wednesday night, Aubameyang, who has just rejoined Marseille, hosted a Q&A session for his fans.

One supporter asked him: “Auba, who should Arsenal sign – Rafa Leao or Rodrygo?”

The 36-year-old replied: “I like Rafa Leao!”

Both Rodrygo and Leao are tremendous players and would be incredible signings for Arsenal.

The AC Milan star is among the fastest wingers in Europe, and his ability on the left flank makes him a very dangerous attacker to have in your squad.

Rodrygo is much more versatile and has done it on bigger stages than Leao, but how do their stats from the 2024/25 season look when compared against each other?

Leao and Rodrygo’s output last season was fairly similar – both players directly contributed to 25 goals.

Arsenal fans will be delighted if either one of them joins the club, but we agree with Aubameyang here – Leao, who is valued at £84 million, would be the better fit for the Gunners.

The Portugal international is most effective when he hugs the touchline like Arteta wants his wingers to, and he is devastating in 1v1 situations.

That is exactly what Arsenal need right now, but TBR Football can reveal that Leao is not keen on leaving AC Milan this summer. That makes any move very unlikely.
