Tottenham Hotspur welcomed back another former player as they beat Everton on Monday with Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg posting a photo on Instagram with Moussa Sissoko inside the dressing room following the 5-0 victory.

Spurs cruised to a stunning win against Frank Lampard’s side. Michael Keane got the ball rolling with a thunderous own goal. Son Heung-min then doubled the lead inside 17 minutes.

Harry Kane scored twice for the home side either side of Sergio Reguilon’s strike right at the start of the second-half.

The result leaves Tottenham right in the race for the top-four in the Premier League. They now sit three points behind Arsenal having played a game more than Mikel Arteta’s men.

There is, of course, one North London derby still to go this season. So it was a huge win for Antonio Conte’s men. And they will now be hoping to secure back-to-back victories for the first time since the turn of the year.

But there was one spectator inside Tottenham Hotspur Stadium who may have taken particular joy from seeing Everton thrashed.

It turns out that Sissoko went to watch Tottenham against the Toffees.

Of course, Sissoko is part of the Watford side who are trying to catch Everton in the battle to beat the drop in the Premier League. The result has certainly left Lampard’s men in serious trouble.

Interestingly, Sissoko also has another link to Everton. It was the Toffees who tried to sign the Frenchman before his move to Tottenham back in 2016.

In fact, Sky Sports suggested that Ronald Koeman tried to phone Sissoko, but he did not answer his calls as the midfielder headed for Tottenham.

So it is little surprise that Sissoko was looking extremely pleased as he was reunited with some of his former Tottenham teammates following their win on Monday…
