Have you ever heard of the phrase ‘a picture speaks a thousand words’? A photo of Tottenham Hotspur star Son Heung-min and Spurs’ fitness coach Gian Piero Ventrone from this morning spoke volumes.
Tottenham flew over to South Korea over the weekend to begin their pre-season tour. Spurs take on a K-League XI tomorrow before facing Sevilla later this weekend.
Results don’t really matter in pre-season games – it’s all about getting back to full fitness. Antonio Conte may not agree with the first part, but he definitely wants his players in peak physical condition as quickly as possible.
To achieve that, the Spurs boss and his fitness coach, Ventrone, put every single player through their races, and we must say, it wasn’t a pretty sight.

According to The Athletic, Conte and Ventrone’s training session yesterday was so brutal that some players collapsed, while others were left struggling for breath.
Harry Kane was one of those who collapsed off the pitch and ended up throwing up because of how intense the session was.
His good pals Son Heung-min and Lucas Moura joined him there shortly after, as did new boy Yves Bissouma, who were all clearly feeling the heat.
Tottenham players have been summoned back for day two of training today. A picture posted by Spurs’ official Twitter handle shows Son greeting Ventrone ahead of this morning’s session, and the way the Korean is pictured looking at the fitness coach tells us the entire story.
TBR View:
People across social media have plenty of opinions over Conte’s training methods at Spurs. Some say it’s a bit over the top considering it was the start of pre-season for many, but can you really question the Italian?
Conte is a proven winner and one of the biggest reasons why his teams over the years have done so well is because of the work he makes them do behind the scenes.
Tottenham’s players have arguably never been through anything like this before, which probably explains why they haven’t won anything for a long, long time.
By listening to Conte and following every single one of his commands, that terrible drought could end soon, which is what everyone at Tottenham really wants.
