‘Phenomenal’ manager is gaining traction at Manchester United as Ratcliffe considers Ten Hag change

Erik ten Hag seems to be a man under pressure at Manchester United following the partial takeover by Sir Jim Ratcliffe.

Ratcliffe’s new-look team are going to be assessing everything and everyone at Old Trafford and a raft of changes are expected over the course of the next year or so.

Of course, first and foremost for Ratcliffe is getting the team above the manager right, before then deciding if Ten Hag is going to be the man to lead the club forward. At the moment, it seems things might be leaning towards the Dutchman departing.

And according to The Independent’s Miguel Delaney, German manager Julian Nagelsmann is someone who is getting a mention at boardroom level at Manchester United.

Writing in his latest column for The Independent, Delaney stated the following on Nagelsmann and United.

“Another potential candidate gaining favour is Julian Nagelsmann, who will be in charge of Germany for Euro 2024.”

Julian Nagelsmann to Manchester United could work

We saw Nagelsmann linked heavily with the Tottenham job in 2023 and we’ve seen since him mentioned when it comes to taking over Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool.

But the notion of him taking over from Ten Hag at United is something that’s not quite got the same sort of traction just yet.

This report from Delaney is an interesting one and if Nagelsmann is garnering support high up at Old Trafford, it would be no surprise

Nagelsmann has been dubbed a ‘phenomenal‘ young manager and will lead Germany at the Euros this summer.

His future beyond that, though, is uncertain and if United did come knocking, it would definitely be something that Nagelsmann could be tempted by.

For United, some big decisions are coming along. There seems an inevitability about Ten Hag at the moment and not in a positive way. Indeed, it seems only a remarkable finish to the season and potentially snatching Champions League football will save him now.
