The transfer window has been and gone, and that means that we’re now able to analyse every club’s business this summer.
Some teams had a transformational transfer window – Ipswich Town spent over £100m on new players, while others lay dormant – Newcastle weren’t busy at all.
Speaking to TNT Sports, Peter Crouch has been discussing who he believes are the best signings of the summer.
Crouch said that Dominic Solanke was his signing of the summer, but, interestingly, he ranked Max Kilman as his second best addition of the window, ahead of Pedro Neto to Chelsea.
Max Kilman a better signing than Pedro Neto
Crouch spoke about the new West Ham centre-back.
“Number two I think Max Kilman. I think Max Kilman at West Ham is a top signing. Very solid. He’s shown in his first few games. He brings the ball out, retains the ball really well, a top player,” Crouch said.

Max Kilman is a brilliant signing
West Ham have had a slow start to the season, but make no mistake about it, the signing of Kilman is an inspired addition.
Indeed, Kilman knows Julen Lopetegui very well from his time at Wolves, and he adds an element of defensive steel that has been lacking in this West Ham team for a little while.
Kilman is the perfect player for Lopetegui’s system, and as this West Ham team settles under their new manager, they will cause seious problems.
A slow start doesn’t necessarily define a team’s season, and there’s still plenty of reason to be excited about what West Ham can achieve this season with Lopetegui in the dugout and Kilman at the heart of the defence.
As Crouch says, this could prove to be one of the signings of the summer.
