The summer transfer window is over, and that means we can now make some early shouts about who is going to be the signing of the season.
There have been some early standout performers as new arrivals at Premier League clubs.
Emile Smith Rowe has started brightly at Fulham, Amadou Onana has hit the ground running at Aston Villa, while Liam Delap looks like he could be key for Ipswich Town.
Speaking to TNT Sports, Peter Crouch has been ranking his best signings of the summer, and, interestingly, he thinks that Spurs have done the best bit of business in the window just gone.
Peter Crouch says Dominic Solanke is Signing of the Summer
Crouch stated that he thinks Dominic Solanke is the best signing of this transfer window ahead of the likes of Raheem Sterling to Arsenal.
“I think Solanke at Tottenham (is signing of the summer). I don’t think they replaced Harry Kane when he left as the focal point. The number nine at Spurs, once he gets over his injury I think he will score goals and he will do the business,” Crouch said.

Dominic Solanke could be Signing of the Summer
It’s early days yet, but we can absolutely understand why Crouch thinks Solanke could be the Signing of the Summer.
Paul Merson has also named Solanke as one of his signings of the summer.
The England international is coming off the back of the best season of his career with Bournemouth, and he looks like he could be just what Spurs need in terms of a Harry Kane replacement.
Tottenham are a brilliant attacking team, but they don’t always finish their chances, and they will be hoping that Solanke can be that clinical number nine they have been lacking for a little while.
This could prove to be an inspired signing.
Fingers crossed Solanke can get back fit soon and prove his worth to this Tottenham team, because Spurs are missing Solanke after a slow start to the season.
